25 Berkeley Square

London

25 Berkeley Square is a large prestigious office building in a corner of Berkeley Square, in London’s exclusive Mayfair district. A mix of office, retail, and entertainment uses the building was originally constructed in 1906 as luxury mansion apartments before it was eventually converted to office use in 1954.

Spectral Lighting worked together with Forme UK architects to provide the feature lighting pendants to all the front facing heritage rooms on floors 1-5. These feature rooms were refurbished to enhance all the original features of these period rooms while combining modern feature pendant lighting – fit for a 21st Century office space. These feature rooms are to be used as meeting rooms and individual offices.

Spectral’s H-PROFIL 140 was selected as the core product to produce a series of fluid square and oblong shaped pendants. Because H-PROFIL is a hand produced product, Spectral are able to make these products to any size and shape. Forme UK worked with Spectral to produce the concept sketches for each room and the final products were pretty much true to the architect’s vision. A key feature of the designs were the radiused corners and bowed lines to create these amazing classic shapes.

The luminaires have separately controllable upward and downward lighting that are all fully dimmable. As with most Spectral systems, the quality of materials is designed for longevity and designed to be fully maintainable under parent RIDI Group’s circular economy standard – Responsible Light. This means LED modules are fully replaceable and products can be fully refurbished in the future.
